Upon graduation from the Université de Moncton with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) degree, with a major in Finance, Yves Leger held several sales and marketing positions before transitioning to the public sector in 2010.  

Since 2014, he has been a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) with local governments in New Brunswick (CAO - Village of Memramcook 2014-16, CAO/Clerk - Beaubassin-est Rural Community 2016-2022, CAO/Clerk – Maple Hills Rural Community 2022-2024) and presently the CAO for the Town of Shediac.  During those tenures, he has overseen many community projects through strategic planning, infrastructure development and public safety initiatives, while also maintaining a sound fiscal management approach.

Leger has been a member of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) and the Association of Municipal Administrators of New Brunswick (AMANB) since 2014.  While participating on several ad-hoc committees for both organizations (CAMA - Awards of Excellence Program 2017, Financial Stability Committee 2021-present, and Bilingualism Committee 2023-present and AMANB – Chair of Sponsor/Partner Program 2020-2022, and member of the Constitution Revision Committee 2023).  

He also recently completed his term of serving on the Board of Directors (Regional Director - Zone 9, 2019-2023) with the AMANB. Yves has recently attained his Professional Certification Level 2 from AMANB (2021), the Municipal Management Training Program Certification (AMANB - 2023) and is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Administration Program (MPA) at the Université de Moncton.

An active community leader, he has donated his time to several organizations over the years (Lewisville Minor Hockey Association and Jeux de l’Acadie).  Leger now calls Moncton, NB his hometown along with his wife Erika and two children, Eric and Annie.
